- A monthly increase in total live births, estimated at 3.1%, compared to October 2022.
- A monthly increase in total traffic fatalities, with a monthly change rate of 40.0% in November 2022 compared to previous month.
- A monthly decrease in total divorce cases in November 2022 by 54.5% compared to October of the same year.
The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 106th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis. In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during November 2022 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census.
Among the prominent changes in this issue is the decrease in total traffic violations at a monthly rate of 41.9% (compared to October 2022), and at an annual rate of 40.8% (compared to November 2021). The speeding (radar) violation rate achieved the highest decrease among all violations, with a monthly change rate of 48.2%. In addition, the total new driving licences decreased at a monthly rate of 71.9% in November 2022 (compared to October 2022), and at an annual rate of 57.7% (compared to November 2021).
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.69 million at November 2021 to 2.89 million at November 2022.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2436 live births have been registered during November 2022. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 5.8% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 226 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 2.3% compared to October 2022.
Moreover, November 2022 witnessed a monthly decrease of 25.9% and 54.5% of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates respectively compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 260 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 95 cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 77 Million Qatari Riyals in November 2022, for 14074 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly increase of 1.6% for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.7% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
Total electricity consumption during November 2022 was 3079.8 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 19.4% and an annual decrease of 13.1%. While the total water consumption has reached 29665.4 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 8.8% and an annual decrease of 44.6% comparing to November 2021.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 704 Billion Qatari Riyals during November 2022, an annual increase of 13.7% compared with November 2021. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 958 Billion Qatari Riyals during November 2022. The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 0.6% compared to November 2021, when deposits recorded approximately 964 Billion Qatari Riyals.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 645 permits during November 2022, recording a monthly decrease of 33.6% and an annual decrease of 19.6%.
The total number of registered new vehicles during November 2022 has reached 9423 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 22.8% while showed an annual increase of 36.9%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 866 traffic cases were recorded during November 2022, showing a monthly decrease of 1.6% and an annual increase by 21.3%. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 92%, followed by severe injuries by 6%. However, 21 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 592 thousand, recording a monthly increase of 229.5% (compared to October 2022) and an annual increase of 430.3% (compared to November 2021). The highest number of visitors was from the Americas at 23%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 85% of the total number of visitors.
