Workshop on The Impact of Oil Price Fluctuations on Current and Future Development in the Gulf

​The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, in cooperation with the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, organizes a workshop on "the Impact of Oil Price Fluctuations on Current and Future Development in the GCC countries and How to Address Them" to be held on Tuesday, 18 October, 2016 at Shangri-La Hotel, Doha.

The workshop aims to identify the causes of fluctuations in oil prices, and their impact on current and future development in the GCC countries. During the workshop, Qatar and the Gulf states’ experiences in this area will be presented and discussed.
The workshop also aims to clarify the future impact of oil price fluctuations on the Gulf states, and how to address them through the revision of development plans and strategies, sector priorities, programs and projects, as well as improving the investment environment, involving the private sector in the next phase, and drawing key observations and recommendations in this regard.

Among the participants in the workshop are Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd. (Tasweeq), the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Economy and Trade, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Chamber, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait University, Sultan Qaboos University and a number of representatives from the GCC states, as well as officials from the public and private sectors in State of Qatar.
