In the fall of 2008 the Census Questionnaire Committee reviewed UN recommendations, GCC recommendations, and the questions asked in the last Census to draft questionnaires to be used in Census 2010.
In addition, in December 2008 the Qatar Statistics Authority sent a request to all Ministries for a Census contact at the Ministry and to list data topics the Ministries would like to see included in the Census.
In January 2009 the Qatar Statistics Authority hosted the first consultative meeting on the 2010 Population, Housing and Establishment Census. The attendees included data users, Government Ministries, universities, decision makers, and representatives of countries in the GCC.
The draft questionnaires were discussed and suggestions were made for changes. The questionnaires that will be used in the Pilot Census include the suggested and approved topics.
