Use of the Latest Classification in the 2010 Census

The latest classifications issued by the UN Statistics Division have been developed by GCC countries and are to be used in the 2010 Census.  

For instance, the Directory of GCC Economic Activity based on Information System Command, Control, and Computer (ICS4), which will be adopted by GCC countries within two months with a view to using a single statistical language in all data producers and data users entities.

Moreover, new classifications have been introduced in Qatar and will be adopted in the coming period. In cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, a plan of action has been adopted for application after it has been accredited, The Statistics Authority has made an inventory of the data related to the labor market in Qatar.

On the other hand, a comprehensive directory of scientific fields of specialization is to be issued. The main objective of such publications is to ensure the development of statistical systems and their continuation, using means making possible to produce data and disseminate them in accordance to principles and practices which ensure the maintenance of standards of high quality and objectivity as well as statistics dissemination in accordance with the objectives of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics, which is currently implemented by the State of Qatar.
