The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 82th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis.  In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during October 2020 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2015 Census.
Among the most notable changes in this issue is the increase in total new driver's licences, at a monthly rate of 12.0% compared to September 2020. The highest percentage in this increase was for non-Qatari males, accounting for 77% of total driver's licences.
One of the other notable changes is the increase in total traffic violations and traffic accidents at a monthly rate of 12.1% and 16.3%, respectively compared to September 2020. In addition, October 2020 witnessed an increase in total e-government portal transactions at a monthly rate of 15.7% compared to September 2020, an annual increase rate of 55.3% compared to October 2019.
 The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has decreased from 2.75 million during October 2019 to 2.72 million at end of October 2020.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2409 live births have been registered during October 2020. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 0.4% compared to last month. On the other hand, 226 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 4.6% compared to September 2020.
Moreover, October 2020 has experienced a monthly increase by 16.5% in marriage contracts while it experienced a monthly decrease 17.0% in divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts was 486 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces has reached 191 divorce cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 80 Million Qatari Riyals in October 2020, for 14263 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 1.7% and 4.3%   for the value of social security and for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security respectively.
Total electricity consumption during October 2020 was 4153.7 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 16.7% and an annual decrease of 12.8%. While the total water consumption has reached 59644.9 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 0.1% and an annual rise of 46.1%.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 731 permits during October 2020, recording a monthly decrease of 3.4% and an annual decrease of 23.4%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 534 traffic cases were recorded during October 2020, showing a monthly increase of 16.3% and an annual decrease by 10.9%. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 88%, followed by severe injuries by 10%. However, 11 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
The total number of registered new vehicles during October 2020 has reached 5674 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 8.4% and an annual decrease of 13.5%.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 583.1 Billion Qatari Riyals during October 2020, an annual increase of 4.3% compared with October 2019. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 875.7 Billion Qatari Riyals during October 2020. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 6.1% compared to October 2019, when deposits recorded approximately 825.3 Billion Qatari Riyals.
