The number of housing units increased by (55.8%) between the 2010 and 2020 censuses to reach approximately (403.8) thousand units in Census 2020.
The apartments constituted (53.1%) of the total housing units in Qatar, where Doha Municipality's share of those apartments reached (67.7%).
As for villas, they accounted for (31.2%) of the total housing units in Qatar, where Al-Rayyan municipality's share was (40.6%) of those villas, while Doha municipality accounted for (24.4%) of the total villas in Qatar.
The number of buildings increased by (49.7%) between 2010 and 2020 censuses, to almost (222.7) thousand buildings in Census 2020.
The percentage of completed buildings in Al Rayyan Municipality slightly rose than those in Doha Municipality. The percentage of buildings located in Doha and Al Rayyan in Census 2020 constitute (61.9%) of the total buildings in Qatar, compared to (73.4%) in Census 2010. This decline is attributed to the rise in the annual increase in the remaining municipalities compared to Doha and Al-Rayyan between 2010 and 2020 Censuses.
Generally, the percentage of the increase in buildings in all municipalities went up between 2010 and 2020 censuses, compared to 2004 and 2010 censuses. As for the highest rate of increase in buildings, which occurred between the 2010 and 2020 censuses, it was reported in Al Daayen Municipality at (300%).
