​The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 78th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis.  In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during June 2020 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2015 Census. 


Among the most prominent changes in this month is the increase in the number of sold properties from 180 in May 2020 to 456 properties during June 2020; a monthly increase of 153.3% and an annual increase rate of 89.2% compared to June 2019. The majority of sold properties during June 2020 was vacant lands, which constituted 61.8% of the total sold properties.

Furthermore, among the most prominent changes was the rise in monetary indicators, As the Market General Index reached 8999 points during June 2020, with a monthly increased 1.7% and decline of 13.9% compared to June 2019.. Moreover, the total deposits in commercial banks increased by a monthly rate of 2.3% and an annual rate of 7.1% compared to June 2019. Likewise, total credit increased by a monthly rate of 0.7% and an annual rate of 9.9% compared to June 2019.

 The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.64 million during June 2019 to 2.79 million at end of June 2020.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 1952 live births have been registered during June 2020. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 40.7% compared to last month. On the other hand, 303 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 27.3% compared to May 2020. 

Moreover, June 2020 has experienced a monthly increase by 87.9% in marriage contracts. The total number of marriage contracts was 310 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorce certificates has reached 76 divorce cases. 

As for the Social Security statements, reached 84 Million Qatari Riyals in June 2020, for 15448 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 0.4% and 0.8% for the value of social security and the number of beneficiaries, respectively
Total electricity consumption during June 2020 was 4735.0 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 19.0% and an annual decrease of 3.5%. While the total water consumption has reached 60025.2 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 3.4% and an annual rise of 5.6%. 

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 572 permits during June 2020, recording a monthly increase of 111.1% and an annual increase of 23.5%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 361 traffic cases were recorded during June 2020, showing a monthly increase of 8.7%. While it decreased annually by 38.2%. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 89%, followed by severe injuries by 9%. 
However, 9 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.

The total number of registered new vehicles during June 2020 has reached 3898 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 107.6% and an annual decrease of 5.0%. 

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 598.1 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2020, an annual increase of 7.0% compared with June 2019. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 884.2 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2020. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 7.1% compared to June 2019, when deposits recorded approximately 825.7 Billion Qatari Riyals.
