In Collaboration with SESRIC, Ankara Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics Organizes a Training Course on Environmental Statistics

In preparation for the implementation of the Global Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) will organize a training course on environmental statistics during the period 20-22 March, 2017, in cooperation with the Statistical Economic and Social Research & Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), Ankara.  

Participants in this training course will be staff from MDPS and relevant authorities in the State, in order to unify concepts, terminology and classifications related to environmental statistics as a prelude to the preparation of reports on sustainable development.

The training course aims to contribute to building capabilities of statistical cadres and raise awareness on environmental statistics and introduce methodology of data collection, challenges that arise during the environmental data collection from public and private sources, methods of presentation and analysis of environmental statistics output, and how to provide easy access to such statistics for users.

In the training course, participants will also learn from Turkey's experience on environmental statistics and data sources, and data collection methodology for water, wastewater and waste statistics, as well as spending on environment. In addition, there will be a review of successful experiences and lessons learned from such experiences.
