The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics and the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait organized a training course on "Strategic Planning in the Light of Economic Crisis" in the ministry’s premises from 29/5/2016 to 2/6/2016, with the participation of a number of experts from Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait and the employees of planning field in the ministry.
The course aimed to increase the efficiency of the planning staff and develop their skills and capabilities in line with changes taking place in the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030, through presenting a package of studies and solutions relating to the basis of strategic planning and challenges of the economic crisis.
The program of the training course included several main themes relating to strategic planning in light of the economic crisis; such as, for instance, the importance and objectives of the strategic planning in light of economic crisis, and types of financial and economic crises and their impacts on planning. In addition, the course oriented towards studying the types of economic crises and fluctuations, analyzing the impacts of global economic fluctuations on development planning system in the State of Qatar, and identifying the most important approaches and policies to address imbalances in the planning system resulting from changes in the global economic environment.
At the end of the course, HE Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed al-Nabit, Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, congratulated the participants and awarded them certificates.
Moreover, it is worth noting that the course program included a study about the interactive relationship between the strategic planning, development plans, global economic environment, understanding and measuring the nature of macro-economic risks, and studying different future scenarios. The organization of this course came in the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics and the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait.
