Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, and the GCC Statistical Center organize a training course on labor force surveys in the GCC countries

​Within their joint cooperation to develop statistics in the GCC countries, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, and the GCC Statistical Center organize a regional training course on labor force surveys’ sample design and sampling methods. The training course takes place during the period 27-31 March 2016.
The training course is attended by employees working in the field of household, and labor force surveys, and specialists in sampling and sample design in the GCC countries’ national statistical agencies.
The training course aims to support the GCC countries’ statistical agencies to attain their targets consisted in developing labor force statistics through building and increasing the Gulf statistical capacities competence in sampling and sample design to implement the labor force, and household surveys.
It is noteworthy that the labor force statistics development is one of GCC Statistical Center’s priority projects. It intends to provide uniform labor force statistics on quarterly basis and in accordance with international standards by 2020. The labor statistics feature the description of size, structure, characteristics, outputs, and the participants’ contributions in the labor market in the GCC countries.
