Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS), and the Arab Center for Research and Policy studies (ACRPS)

The MDPS and ACRPS signed on Thursday 24 March 2016 a Memorandum of Understanding  to promote cooperation between them in areas of human, social, economic, and environmental development, in addition to the institutional development and modernization to achieve the goals and objectives of QNV 2030.
The MoU was signed at the MDPS’ headquarters by H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Mohamed al-Nabit, Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, and Dr. Azmi Bishara, General Director of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.

The MoU aims to share expertise between the experts of MDPS, ACRPS and Doha Institute for Graduate Studies to prepare national strategies, chiefly the contribution to the National Development Strategy 2017-2022. Domains of cooperation also features the conduct of joint studies associated with this strategy and its sectors, organization of seminars and relevant scientific meetings, and enhances statistical know-how in the country.

Pursuant to the MoU, expertise will be shared between the MDPS and ACRPS via consultants and experts. Joint training programs will be organized to build and develop human capacities at the MDPS, and other agencies in the country, especially in the field of results-based strategic planning.
The MoU intends to consolidate scientific and academic links between the MDPS and the different scientific and academic institutions in the country. It seeks to support the development path to contribute to achieving QNV 2030, building the necessary national human capacities,  and establishing an effective nationwide network for scientific and academic exchange.
