The purpose of the Capital Markets Conference was to focus on the development of domestic debt markets in the GCC region, learning from the experience of other advanced and emerging market economies. Hosted by the Qatar Central Bank, in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Development Planning and the International Monetary Fund, the event (September 18 & 19, 2012) provided an outstanding representation from the public sector, central banks, and private sector financial institutions, all coming together to focus on topics of significant interest to the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) economies.
